What to Expect

Church

Berean is a Baptist church that operates as what many people consider “traditional.” Our aim is to be biblical and theological in our worship together.

Dress

The pastor who preaches normally wears a coat and tie, but most typically come dressed in business casual clothing.

Music

Our music typically consists of hymns, both modern and ancient, with instrumental accompaniment.

Fellowship

Berean is blessed with many close relationships in the church. As a result, many families stay after the meeting and fellowship with one another for quite a while afterwards.

On first Sunday of the month, we stay after the morning service and eat lunch together, which is provided by the church.

Families

While both an infant and toddler nursery (up to age 4) is provided, families with their children of all ages are in our congregational worship meetings.

Service Order

The morning service starts with announcements and a call to worship the Triune God through faith in the Son before opening in prayer. We then sing together psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs which are primarily in our hymnal. After praising God in song, we give monetarily to the church’s ministry and mission. A pastor leads us in the public reading of Scripture and a pastoral prayer. If it is a first Sunday of the month, we will partake of the Lord’s Supper. After that, the pastor brings a sermon, which is 45-50 minutes, and which normally works systematically through a book of the Bible. At the end of the service, we respond with a final congregational hymn and a prayer of God’s blessing upon the church.
